CULMINATING PROJECT (EXTRA CREDIT 5)
Choose any of the following options for your final 30 points.
Option 1: Your Persona
In this lesson, we discussed the idea of Personas. Now it's time for you to choose yours. For 30 points, I want you to choose a figure who represents your personality and "inner self". This figure can be from anywhere - Persona itself takes figures from mythology and history, from the Gods and Goddesses of various mythology to general figures, aspects of the human soul, and even some of the 72 demons of Goetia. You can draw from these places, or from literary figures, or wherever you choose. Try and keep in mind that this is something you'd be bringing into battle with you - while I'm sure it might be comical to summon Dr. House during a battle with a Death Eater, I don't think it'd do you much good. The Persona is a mask to help you through hardships. To meet the requirements, you need to tell me...
1. Who your Persona is and why you chose them
2. What your Arcana is, how you believe your Persona fits into said Arcana, and why you believe this is your Arcana
Aim for a MINIMUM of 350 words.
Option 2: Your Calling Card
For this option, I want you to select your Arcana and create a visual representation (graphic, picture, drawing, etc.) of it. This time, I challenge you to ignore the elements commonly depicted on the card. Re-invent the image of the card! Include with the LINK to your picture a brief explanation of your card - why you included certain elements and how they relate to the Arcana - as well as an explanation for why you associate yourself with this Arcana. This really only has to be around 5 sentences, if that.
Option 3: "The Arcana is the means by which all is revealed..."
Throughout the lessons, you must've noticed the various quotes from Nyx Avatar, exposing the essence of the Arcana in a mere sentence or two. However, these quotes are usually a mix of profound wisdom, mystery and subtly, and poetic language. Nyx Avatar doesn't comment on all of the cards, however - and that's where you come in! I want you to come up with your own Nyx Avatar-esque quotes for the entire tarot deck. All 22 cards! Who knows, maybe your quote will show up next term to represent an Arcana?
You may also do this assignment in the form of a poem; outline the Journey of the Fool or the nature of the Arcana in any type of poem you wish.
Option 4: Your Tarot Deck
If you had the Wild Card ability and therefore possessed an entire deck of Personas, what would they be? For this option, I want you to come up with a representative for all of the Arcana from Fool to Judgement (since World doesn't have summonable Arcana). This is an option you can do in point form: all you need to include is the Arcana, who you are choosing to represent it, a brief description of them, and why you believe they represent that Arcana. For example, my collection of Personas might look a little something like this:
"The Hierophant - Squall Leonhart
Squall is a SeeD soldier from the Final Fantasy Series. He is extremely introverted and has to deal a lot with questioning authority, which is central to the Hierophant. I chose Squall to represent the Hierophant because, like Shinjiro and those of the Hierophant Arcana, he is extremely obsessive over his past.
The Wheel of Fortune - Margo Roth Spiegelman
Margo is a character from John Green's novel Paper Towns. She is loved by many and takes care of her true friends, but finds herself very troubled by the state of the world and what it means for her. I chose Margo to represent the Fortune Arcana because she struggles heavily with "fate" and the path that is chosen for her."
And so forth in that fashion.
Please also note that if none of these options appeal to you AND you have an alternative idea that you think would require equal work to the options above, feel free to send me a HOL message as I will be happy to discuss an alternative option with you. Please also be aware that if your option is approved I will be opening that option to the rest of the class.

BONUS OPPORTUNITY
This opportunity is for those of you who may have missed points along the way, whether due to lateness or incorrect answers, etc. You may complete the following class survey in order to gain points to combat this. Note that the class survey is only worth 15 points, and you will only be awarded these points if the survey is completed in full AND they will only count in filling the "gap" between you and the maximum 300 points. If you turn this survey in and you already have 300 points, I'll be sending you 50 beans instead!
Class Survey:
1. Why did you choose to take this class?
2. Was there anything you wanted to learn, but it wasn't taught?
3. What did you think about the lessons? Were they too long, too short? Did you like or dislike the pictures?
4. What did you think about the assignments? Were they fun? Boring? Too difficult or too easy? Were there not enough options?
5. What could be improved or changed?
6. If this class had been a full-year class to include lessons about the history of tarot, the minor arcana, and people who have influenced the deck, would you still have taken it? Why or why not?
7. Is there anything else you'd like to comment on or say that I haven't asked?
