Class F.A.Q.
This class offers the full 300 points and 1 quill. All lessons and assignments are available at the start of term - however it's asked that you only submit one assignment per month, i.e. lesson one in September, lesson two in October, and so on. Each assignment/extra credit is worth 30 points, for a total of 60 points available per lesson.
- When will lessons and assignments be posted?
Lessons and their corresponding assignments will be posted all term long. Feel free to complete assignments early if that's your thing, but don't send them in until their corresponding month please. It helps keep me organized.
- Do you need an assistant?
Not at the moment. I feel the marking scheme for some options would be a bit hard to put into "hard and fast" rules for an assistant and I also feel I can handle this class on my own. If I change my mind I'll be likely to pick up someone who submitted an application to Prof. Rorey Padfoot's "Class Assistant Want Ads" in the HOL forum.
- How many points can I earn in this class, and how do I pass this class and earn my quill?
You can earn the full 300 points in this class if you complete every assignment correctly and on time.
To pass and earn a quill, however, you only need to get 120 points.
- Is there an exam and/or final project for this class?
The final assignment for lesson five can probably be considered a final project, but there is no exam.
- Do you allow extensions?
Absolutely, but you have to let me know that you need one! I'm really flexible with extensions as I'm overly aware of how busy life can get. Just ask for the extension before the due date (which is midnight HOL time on the last day of every month EXCEPT for the final lesson) and there's a 99.9% chance that it'll be approved. All extensions are good until the final due date (which will be the due date of the lesson 5 assignment, which will be announced soon.)
- What awards does this class offer?
This class offers 4 awards - one for those who earn 250+ points in the class, one for those who complete 5/5 homework assignments and 3/5 or more extra credit assignments, one for those with the most outstanding lesson 5 assignments, and one for those with overall outstanding work throughout the term.
Specific names of awards to be added soon.
